Marketing Sr. Manager, HCP Promo & Peer to Peer, Inflammation (US Remote)

Otezla is the leading treatment in the post-topical, pre-biologic segment in its approved indications. Otezla is currently approved for three indications in the U.S. the treatment of patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for phototherapy or systemic therapy; adult patients with active psoriatic arthritis; and adult patients with oral ulcers associated with Bechet's Disease. Otezla has patent exclusivity through at least 2028 in the U.S.

Otezla is positioned as a therapy of first-choice in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis who are not satisfied with topical therapies given its differentiated mechanism of action and established efficacy and safety profile. In psoriatic arthritis, Otezla is positioned for use in patients early in their disease and/or with moderate joint involvement.

Otezla is approved in 54 countries, including major markets such as France, Germany and Japan. Amgen is well positioned to continue driving Otezla international sales growth.


What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world! In this vital role theMarketing Senior Manager will lead the execution of Otezla brand strategy, including creative development of marketing materials to support the primary care sales force. This role will also lead peer to peer efforts with Otezla in primary care, including speaker bureau management and congress strategy and execution. In addition, this individual will deliver planning and execution of sales force meetings, collaborate in development of brand-building marketing plans and support tactics to accelerate Otezla growth. The person in this role will partner with the Inflammation Business Unit (IBU) matrix teams and key cross-functional partners when working on key brand projects. This position will consist of agency and vendor management, as well as matrix management across Amgens commercial, medical, legal, and regulatory enterprises.


Specific responsibilities:

  • Partners with matrix team to develop strategically aligned HCP tactics with a focus in sales force promotional materials peer-to-peer, speaker bureau, congress, and non-personal promotion
  • Develops strong relationships with key opinion leaders and physicians
  • Coordinates the work of agency partners, multiple external vendors, and internal departments including marketing, market research, legal, regulatory, and medical affairs for tactics under their responsibility
  • Owns brand budget for relevant tactics and closely monitors performance to ensure cost effective delivery of all deliverables
  • Participates in relevant scientific congresses and conferences to stay up to date with relevant literature
  • Partner with internal staff and sales leadership to ensure activities are aligned to brand goals, strategies, growth drivers, and key messages, aligned with Material and Approval Compliance (MAC) guidance
  • Leads internal review / approval process for promotional materials
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the brand plan delivering strategies and tactics that aligns to their focus area in peer-to-peer and non-personal tactics
  • Works closely with Competitive Intelligence to develop competitive planning and strategic efforts
  • Work with analytics team to execute primary and secondary research needed to develop strategy, programs, and measure expected returns/success.
  • Develops and executes advisory boards with key opinion leaders to inform key business questions and future brand promotional strategy and tactics
  • Work with medical, legal and regulatory to translate clinical data into compelling promotional messaging.
  • Supports other ad hoc projects that will arise with evolving brand needs and changing market dynamics

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or Masters degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or Bachelors Degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or Associates Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree in marketing, healthcare management, or related subject area
  • 2+ years of experience in developing, executing, and measuring promotional tactics for specialty products
  • 5+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience
  • Record of growing responsibility within sales and marketing
  • Inflammation, immunology or primary care marketing experience
  • Launch experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively produce business results and ensure flawless execution
  • Ability to drive influence across partners to set direction and align work efforts
  • Experienced with engaging with and gaining insights from key opinion leaders and other members of the healthcare community
  • Marketing competence with a solid grasp of marketing strategy, market research, segmentation, brand positioning, and tactical plan development
  • Exhibits passion and empathy to build meaningful experiences with HCPs by understanding their needs and desires
  • Experience developing and implementing non-personal marketing tactics
  • Demonstrates strength in analytics to translate data into insights and indicated actions
  • Creative and innovative, while also possessing analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with creative agencies
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and live up to the highest ethical standards
  • Ability to build productive partnerships and collaborate effectively in a matrix organization
  • Proactive, results-oriented self-starter motivated by a challenging task
  • Strong organizational skills - to set targets, track to milestones and complete projects

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $140,752 - $171,525.
