Senior Data Consultant – 12 Month FTC

This is an ideal position for a Data expert with experience managing key client relationships with a focus on providing consultative guidance on data management and data governance-related principles.

You will be a committed authority and hold responsibility for the design and management of databases / data flows to ensure smooth business operations for out clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual data models to improve processes and add strategic value to the business.
• Focus on joining up the necessary stakeholders across departments to address gaps and pain-points in data journeys.
• Working closely with the Data Architects, Business Data Owners & IT Subject Matter Experts, the Data Consultant is responsible for analysing, documenting and driving data quality across the applications.
• Perform detailed data discovery, data profiling & data analysis and ensuring a robust quality assurance processes
• Own the creation of the data quality assessment, coordinating input from across all parties as required.
• Develop data quality analysis documentation, reports and presentations as required.
• Produce data cleanse plans & drive data cleansing activities.
• Run data workshops, data working groups and 121 meetings with the stakeholders.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Data management, data warehousing, data integration, data migration, business intelligence, analytics, and project delivery across advisory and technical delivery projects.
• Examine data, processes, and technologies to evaluate the current state and critical problems for both internal business functions and external client projects.
• Research and make recommendations about training, equipment, and technology to improve data use.
• Create automated data reports to inform business units, including documentation, toolkits, and FAQ guides.
• Train and mentor teams in data input, use, meaning, and analysis.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong understanding of analytics and data science.
• Deep technical expertise in MS SQL or Oracle SQL and creating & maintaining a data dictionary. 
• Experience in data discovery, data analysis, data profiling techniques and procedures.
• Ability to quickly analyse, understand and document complex and varied data sets.
• Strong communication & written skills with client-facing management experience.
• Technical expertise regarding data models and database design.
• Knowledge and experience of the full data migration process, source to target data mapping & data cleansing.
• Be enthusiastic, engaging, open and honest, asking questions where necessary, actively own issues, be proactive and drive problem resolution and delivery.
