What is the Role?

In this role, you’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to tell the Solid story across our website and help convey the world of opportunities for companies to build on the Solid platform. You’ll develop Solid- and solution- level messaging, positioning, and copy, including for Solid’s banking, payments, cards, crypto, and compliance solutions. The right candidate will bring creative thinking and customer empathy, to create developer experiences that enable the next generation of financial innovation. You will work across the entire product lifecycle from helping shape the product during its initial conception, to driving launch and commercialization. Who does this role report to?

Chief Product Officer

 

Top responsibilities & accountabilities:
  1. Understand our customers within our target segments (including by talking regularly with current and prospective customers), and ensure our website and web funnel journeys are organized around their concerns, use cases, and priorities.

  2. Advocate for our existing and prospective users to help shape the product roadmap and strategy.

  3. Develop targeted messaging and positioning informed by user research, market insights, and product understanding.

  4. Work closely with a range of cross-functional teams—product managers, engineering, design, other marketers—to develop compelling experiences on our website, dashboard, and docs; and create consistency in the campaigns and experiences across different stages of the funnel.

  5. Write compelling copy and clear internal docs. This is a writing-intensive role, and the bar for your writing is high: you’ll write crisp, vivid prose, with confident control over voice and tone.

  6. Track the right metrics, analyze data, and deeply understand our customer journeys to identify areas of opportunity, executing experiments in highly cross-functional environments, and an ownership mentality toward outputs.

  7. Generate hypotheses and work with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments to improve self-serve growth.

     

What do I need to excel in this role?
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience than can span marketing, product marketing, growth marketing, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting, with a preference for experience in SaaS B2B fintech. 

  • At least 3+ years of experience of marketing or go-to-market experience. 

  • You are well-rounded. This role will require strong writing chops, UX and design sense, and empirical decision-making. You’ll need fluency in both the creative and scientific sides of marketing.

  • Demonstrated success at a startup or in a high-growth environment. You are able to operate fluidly between the 30,000-foot strategy level and the micro-detail to get things right. 

  • High ownership and drive. You own your outcomes, are highly self-motivated, with an entrepreneurial mindset, and are driven to improve.

  • Execution in ambiguity. You’re comfortable and thrive in fast-changing environments.

  • Independent problem-solving. You have a pragmatic mindset and can make decisions with imperfect information.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment with team members distributed across the globe.

  • Strong analytical skills and operating rigor

  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to tackle things on your own.

  • Low-ego, high self-awareness. You know your strengths and weaknesses and are hungry for feedback to grow.
