Whimsical recently raised their $30mm Series A led by Accel, and we’re excited to bring on our first Head of Marketing. Reporting to the Co-founder/CEO, the Head of Marketing will have a seat at the executive leadership table to help scale a category-defining product.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drive overall marketing strategy and execution. Define the function's vision, develop a strategy, plan and expand capacity, drive prioritization, and create operational guidelines to ensure that this unit achieves its long-term goals.
- Develop org design, with core capabilities over time: Paid Acquisition, Organic Acquisition/SEO, Content Marketing/Social Media/Community, Lifecycle/CRM, Media Relations/PR, Product Marketing, Brand, and Sales Enablement.
- Build out world class product marketing stack: Development of positioning and messaging, market research and customer insights, as well as GTM planning and execution.
- Driving top of funnel user growth, adoption, initial revenue, expansion revenue and retention
- Customer lifecycle + customer journey: Developing CRM strategy; building CRM muscle and MarTech stack (push, email); engineering a holistic customer journey
Skills:
- World-class expertise in Product Marketing, considerable knowledge of Content Marketing, Lifecycle Marketing, Brand, and foundational knowledge of Acquisition, Growth, and Sales
- The ability to hire, motivate, manage performance, and match individuals to roles in a way that plays to their talents; ability to recognize and cultivate the potential in others
- Work with Product leadership to align on a product roadmap, guides the development of launch plans, and activates marketing and other user-centric functions around launch events
- Work cross-functionally with leaders on product, engineering, creative, analytics, and insights to unlock new growth opportunities
- Can successfully coordinate, empower, direct multiple stakeholders, details, and timelines towards a specific goal. Has an impatience to move themselves and others to action, even if there is incomplete information or other hurdles.
- Able to walk in our customer's shoes to understand and represent their voice internally
- Relentlessly sets aggressive short- and long-term goals and possesses a strong internal drive to achieve them
- Have led successful product, feature, and positioning launches, liaising with and activating marketing, PR, and other channels/teams.
- Deep B2B SaaS marketing experience or strong consumerized B2B experience. Some B2C experience is preferred.
